It felt like 2D characters with no interest to them. I got through half of it, then skimmed the rest. A pity for I hoped for a good story with substance and adventure not just cheap romance. • 4.0 out of 5 stars from naturegurl2008 -- Good read : I enjoyed the characters. It was a lovely light read. The heroine was a bit naive, the problem seemed a bit too roller coaster ish? Life and death then a brief interlude of dancing, then back to the harrowing ordeal, then a calm, etc and the rival seemed taken care of very quickly. But overall I enjoyed it. It is very fast paced and interesting. I liked the main characters very much and found Henry a perfect male lead. • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Carol -- Enjoyable story as usual from Melanie Dickerson but..... : I enjoyed this story as I have all the novels I have read by this author... however...I found it very distracting to have the main characters continuously referred to by their first and last names all the way through to the end. I am sure that Penelope did not think of Henry as Henry Gilchrist when she was considering marrying him and I doubt Henry thought of her while using her first and last names. They should have been Penelope and Henry much more of the time. Other than that, great story. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2021 )
